The Massage Therapist is primarily responsible for providing professional massages and other body treatments using the standards and protocols established by The Spa at the Del Monte. Special emphasis is placed on accommodating guest preferences, flexibility with work assignments, efficiency, quality, social demeanor and appearance that contributes to a hospitable environment.

Duties:

• Assess guest’s physical needs.
• Provide professional massages with a variety of techniques including Swedish, aromatherapy, sports massage, reflexology, acupressure, shiatsu and lymph drainage.
• Provide other body treatments including herbal wraps, Vichy shower and scrubs.
• Be knowledgeable of proper therapy methods as well as proper draping techniques.
• Be knowledgeable of spa hours of operation and of all spa services and products and aggressively sell such services and products.
• Maintain on-going communication and collaboration with staff with the aim of achieving igh levels of cooperation and service excellence.
• Comply with safety and security procedures that protect associates, guests and company assets.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the treatment rooms and surrounding areas.
• Assist in checking treatment room fixtures, equipment, and conditions (lights, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for proper operation, settings, and maintenance. Report deficiencies.
• Properly maintain all work equipment, tools, and supplies including utilizing proper sanitation procedures.
• Respond to guest requests and inquiries with appropriate level of sensitivity and immediacy while upholding business goals.
•  Responsible for knowing and complying with all items on the position’s training checklist.
•  Comply with all department, spa, and company policies and procedures.
•  Perform any assigned task not outlined above that the associate has the ability to perform.

Qualifications:

• Current state license is required as well as a minimum of 600 hours of massage therapy studies.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a licensed massage therapist.
